The boot that survived a World War. Now built for your everyday terrain.
In the early 1940s, British soldiers stationed across North Africa discovered a simple, rugged ankle boot being handcrafted in Egyptian markets. Lightweight, breathable, easy to lace — it handled desert heat and shifting sand better than anything in their standard kit. Nathan Clark of the Clarks family noticed soldiers wearing these boots and formally introduced the design to the world in 1949. Over eighty years later, the desert boot remains one of the most enduring footwear silhouettes ever made — as comfortable on an office floor as it is on a gravel trail.
The TZARO Sand Dune is built on those same original principles, updated with materials that last.
Suede Genuine Leather Upper
The tan suede upper is warm, textured, and develops character with every wear. Unlike synthetic alternatives that age poorly, suede genuine leather softens over time without losing structure. The mid-ankle profile — the defining trait of the classic Chukka / desert boot — provides just enough support for long days on your feet or light off-road terrain.
Breathable Leather Lining That Keeps Feet Cool
The inside of the Sand Dune is lined with naked drum-dyed genuine leather — a material chosen specifically for its superior moisture-absorption. Sweat is pulled away from your foot and brought to the surface where it dries naturally. The result: feet that stay cool and odour-free even in 40°C Indian summers, with or without socks.
Crepe-Finish TPR Sole — The Original Desert Boot Sole
The crepe sole is as historically accurate as it is practical. The TZARO Sand Dune uses a Thermoplastic Rubber sole with a crepe finish that delivers reliable grip across both rough outdoor terrain and smooth indoor surfaces. TPR performs consistently across temperature extremes — from Rajasthan summers to Himalayan winters — without cracking, stiffening, or delaminating.
Cushioning That Protects Your Joints
A tapered Latex EVA cushion sits beneath your foot, with greater depth at the heel to redistribute pressure away from your knees and ankles. It's the kind of cushion that becomes noticeable only when you take the boots off and put on something lesser.
One Boot, Every Occasion
Wear it over slim denim, chinos, or formal trousers — the Sand Dune transitions without effort. The same mid-ankle silhouette that made desert boots the footwear of choice among soldiers and officers in the 1940s makes them equally at home in a boardroom, a café, or a weekend trail today.

What are desert boots?
Desert boots also known as Chukka boots are ankle high leather boots. These are essentially lace up boots with two/three eyelets. These were first introduced by Clarks and became very popular with soldiers in world war II.
What is special about lining?
These shoes have been lined with naked leather. This family has very superior ability to absorb the sweat which travels to the upper surface of the shoe and dries up keeping your feet cool from inside.
What is cemented construction technique?
Leather is tucked on the edges of lasts with tags/nails before it is attached to the sole.
What is TPR material?
Thermoplastic Rubber is a special grade material which has qualities of both rubber (in terms of abrasion flexibility) and long life of Special Grade Plastic like PU or EVA. Soles made of this material have a longer life in both cold hot climates.
