German Fabric Upper — Beating the Jungle's Biggest Enemy: Heat and Humidity

Leather uppers trap heat and moisture in humid jungle environments. The HULK takes a fundamentally different approach.

The upper is constructed from Black German technical fabric — selected for its breathability, structural strength, and resistance to the continuous abrasion and moisture exposure of jungle terrain. The fabric allows hot air and moisture to escape continuously, delivering ventilation that leather simply cannot match in dense, humid conditions.

Inside, a skin-fit fabric lining sits flush against the foot, minimising friction and actively transferring moisture outward — keeping feet cooler and drier during long patrols and operations. In jungle environments, this ventilation advantage is not a comfort feature — it is a tactical one.

Leather reinforcement at the toe cap, heel counter, and key structural zones provides the abrasion resistance and impact protection needed where the boot takes the hardest hits from roots, rocks, and rough terrain — without adding the weight or heat of an all-leather upper.

At approximately 1 kg per pair, the HULK is dramatically lighter than conventional jungle boots — directly reducing fatigue during long-range patrols, reconnaissance, and sustained jungle movement where every gram on the foot compounds over kilometres of terrain.

The lace-up closure — without a side zip — delivers a clean, flush fit with no hardware to snag on vegetation or create pressure points during extended patrol movement. In jungle terrain, this is operationally preferable.

Phylon Midsole + High-Density PU Cushion

Phylon Midsole — premium compressed EVA that retains its spring and shock-absorption properties over years of heavy use, unlike PVC and PU soles that go flat under sustained field conditions.

High-Density PU Cushion with genuine leather insole — layered above the Phylon, delivering deep shock absorption that protects joints during load-bearing movement across the irregular, impact-heavy surfaces that jungle terrain presents continuously.

Rubber Outsole — Grip on Roots, Rocks, Mud, and Everything Between

The thin rubber outsole delivers reliable anti-skid grip across the full range of jungle surfaces — wet roots, muddy stream banks, rocky outcrops, and uneven forest floor. Rubber's abrasion resistance ensures grip and sole profile hold across years of demanding use, where PVC and PU soles would have long since worn smooth. Thin-profile construction keeps the weight advantage intact.

The shoe comes with mesh layer which has been combined with specialized fabric lining on the inside with a special adhesive which accelerates the sweat transfer from inside to the surface of the shoe. This keeps your feet cool and sweat free.

The shock absorbing ability comes both from thick PHYLON midsole layer as well as the memory foam cushioning on the inside. It’s ability to handle shock is going to work well even over the years.
