Dark Sole. Suede Base. Built Like It Used to Be.
There is a certain kind of slipper that does not try to look new. It borrows from older footwear languages — deep, dark soles; suede underfoot; leather straps with real hardware — and uses them deliberately, not as nostalgia but as a considered choice. The Ocata is that slipper. Suede footbed, full grain leather strap in a light-contrast tan, 100% cotton webbing, nail detailing at the strap, and a dark compound sole that is, despite everything it looks like, super-light, flexible, and built with serious anti-skid engineering. Old school in construction. Current in everything it delivers.
Suede Footbed — The Surface That Feels Different
The footbed is suede — not leather, not synthetic, not a leather-look coating. Suede sits differently under the foot than smooth leather: it is warmer to the touch, naturally textured, and grips the foot gently without being abrasive. The dark maroon-brown suede of the Ocata creates a base that is visually rich and tactilely distinct from anything in the Cloud range. It does not age the same way smooth leather does — it develops a compressed, personalised surface over time that maps to the exact shape and pressure of the foot wearing it.
Full Grain Leather Strap in Light-Contrast Tan — The Detail That Anchors It
The strap is full grain leather in a light tan — a deliberate contrast against the deep suede base. The separation between the tan strap and the dark footbed gives the Ocata its visual structure: two tones, clearly defined, with the strap reading as a clean accent rather than blending into the base. Full grain means the top layer of the hide — no corrections, no buffing, no surface repairs. The grain is natural and the leather will develop its own character with wear, pulling darker at flex points and building depth at the edges.
100% Cotton Webbing — Where the Strap Meets the Foot
Underneath and alongside the leather, the strap construction incorporates 100% cotton webbing — breathable, skin-friendly, and flat against the foot without the heat retention of synthetic materials. Cotton does not grip the skin in heat. It sits quietly and lets the foot breathe. The pairing of full grain leather on the outside and cotton webbing in the construction gives the strap a structure that is both durable and comfortable across long hours of wear.
Nail Detail — Hardware as Design
The nails along the strap are not decorative afterthoughts. They are the design element that gives the Ocata its character — small, evenly spaced, metal studs that sit flush with the leather surface. They recall the vocabulary of older craftsman footwear: the kind of detail that required intention to place and is immediately visible to anyone who looks closely. Against the tan leather, the nail heads add a dimension that plain leather or plain webbing cannot. It is a detail you notice on the shelf and remember on the foot.
Dark Compound Sole — Lightweight Beneath a Heavy-Looking Base
The sole is dark — a deep brown-black that grounds the entire shoe and completes the old-school visual register. But it does not weigh what it looks like. The compound is super-light, the same category of sole engineering that makes the Cloud range what it is — a material that gives the foot almost nothing to carry. The outsole is ribbed with a wave-pattern anti-skid structure across the full base: grip that covers the entire contact surface, not just the heel or forefoot. Flexible enough to bend without resistance, grippy enough to work on wet stone, light enough to forget.
Style Note
The Ocata occupies a different register from the Cloud stripe variants. Where those read as casual and current, this reads as crafted and considered — the kind of slipper a man reaches for when he wants the outfit to have some history to it. The dark sole and suede base work with darker wardrobes: deep indigo denim, charcoal linen, olive and earth tones, and kurtas in natural shades. The tan strap and nail detail provide enough contrast to prevent the shoe from disappearing into the outfit. It is the slipper for men who appreciate how things are made and want that to be visible.
Suede underfoot, leather above, hardware where it counts. The Ocata.

What is special about lining?
These shoes have been lined with naked leather. This family has very superior ability to absorb the sweat which travels to the upper surface of the shoe and dries up keeping your feet cool from inside.
What is cemented construction technique?
Leather is tucked on the edges of lasts with tags/nails before it is attached to the sole.
What is TPR material?
Thermoplastic Rubber is a special grade material which has qualities of both rubber (in terms of abrasion flexibility) and long life of Special Grade Plastic like PU or EVA. Soles made of this material have a longer life in both cold hot climates.
What's the difference between Faux Leather Shoes and Genuine Leather Shoes?
Faux Leather shoes do not breathe and feet will become hot from inside. Well-made genuine leather shoes (with genuine leather lining) will keep your feet cool even after 10 hours of usage in 40 degree Celsius zones. Genuine leather has 50 times longer life than Faux Leather Shoes.
