A boot born in the desert. Proven in war. Built for your everyday.
The Tzaro Sahara is a pure leather desert boot with a lineage that stretches back to the North African theatre of World War II. During the campaign, Egyptian cobblers crafted a simple, low-ankle, lace-up boot that British soldiers — baking under a relentless desert sun — adopted with enthusiasm. Nathan Clark of the legendary Clarks family served with the Royal Army and took careful notice. By 1949, the desert boot had made it from the Egyptian bazaars to the shelves of the world, and it has never gone out of style since.
The Tzaro Sahara carries that wartime DNA forward — and then upgrades it.
Crunch Oil Pull-Up Leather Upper
The Sahara is built from crunch oil pull-up leather — a full-grain, naked-finish leather from the pull-up family. When the surface is flexed or pulled, the natural oils migrate visibly through the hide, creating that distinctive, lived-in crunch effect. This isn't a flaw — it's character. Over time, the leather develops a rich, personal patina unique to the wearer, growing more handsome with every scuff and every stride. Pull-up leather is among the most breathable and durable grades available; it moulds to your foot like no synthetic ever could.
Sweat-Wicking Genuine Leather Lining
The inside of the Sahara is lined with naked leather — the same oil-rich family as the outer. This lining actively wicks sweat away from the foot, drawing moisture to the surface where it evaporates. The result: feet that stay cool and dry even after ten hours on your feet in 40°C heat. Faux leather linings trap heat; genuine leather releases it.
Cemented Construction with Crepe-Finish TPR Sole
The upper is lasted and cemented using a precision cemented construction technique, ensuring a clean profile and a slim silhouette that looks equally sharp with chinos, denims, or trousers. The sole is Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) with a crepe finish — a material that combines the grip and flexibility of rubber with the longevity of high-grade plastics like PU or EVA. The result is a sole that performs in both extreme heat and cold, and outlasts conventional rubber soles by a wide margin.
Mid-Ankle Profile | Two/Three Eyelet Lace-Up
The classic mid-ankle cut and clean lace-up design — unchanged since the WW2 era — gives the Sahara its timeless versatility. It's the silhouette favoured by armies for field use, and by style-conscious men for its effortless smart-casual appeal.

What are desert boots?
Desert boots also known as Chukka boots are ankle high leather boots. These are essentially lace up boots with two/three eyelets. These were first introduced by Clarks and became very popular with soldiers in world war II.
What is special about lining?
These shoes have been lined with naked leather. This family has very superior ability to absorb the sweat which travels to the upper surface of the shoe and dries up keeping your feet cool from inside.
What is cemented construction technique?
Leather is tucked on the edges of lasts with tags/nails before it is attached to the sole.
What is TPR material?
Thermoplastic Rubber is a special grade material which has qualities of both rubber (in terms of abrasion flexibility) and long life of Special Grade Plastic like PU or EVA. Soles made of this material have a longer life in both cold hot climates.
What's the difference between Faux Leather Shoes and Genuine Leather Shoes?
Faux Leather shoes do not breathe and feet will become hot from inside. Well-made genuine leather shoes (with genuine leather lining) will keep your feet cool even after 10 hours of usage in 40 degree Celsius zones. Genuine leather has 50 times longer life than Faux Leather Shoes.
