The herringbone pattern on the rubber sole proved to be extra useful. The shoe was made with moc-toe technique which gave it extra comfortable as it had the ability to expand and contract with every step. The larger shoe opening made it convenient to get in and out as well. TZARO has worked on a new generation of Boat shoes, Float series takes all the classical dimensions of the boat shoe but it comes with a super light sole which also has anti-skid make. The grip of this sole is even stronger than the original boat shoe. Float series weighs 570 odd grams a pair which is lighter than an-usual wrist watch. This new generation is ideal for long walks, long hours of usage, even in office. In 1930 Paul Sperry was walking his dog in American winter when he noticed that while he was slipping but his dog could comfortably walk on icy surface. On closer look he realized that his dog’s paws had some herringbone kind of pattern so he cut a similar pattern in his sole and realized that he had better grip.
This is how first set of boat shoe came into existence. The modified boat shoe was done in rubber sole and was very popular among sailors. The Oil-pullup leathers used in these shoes had water repellant qualities. The bigger opening made it easy to get in and out of the shoe; you could virtually use them like slippers.
TZARO boat shoes follow all the four cardinal principles
These boat shoes follow all the classical principles of boat shoe. They come with antiskid sole, have wider opening and come in MOCTOE construction. Thick unlined genuine leather gives it long life and also great ventilation.
The leather wraps like an envelope below the feet; this construction technique gives the shoes an amazing ability to expand and contract with every step you take in these which adds to its comfort. This technique is somewhat rarely used as it consumes more leather than usual cemented construction. It’s an amazing experience to use shoes made with MOCTOE technique.
These boat shoes are made with TR sole with herringbone pattern which gives them greater grip in outdoor conditions. TR sole also gives a stable performance across temperature zones [works well in Colder as well as Hot Geographies]. This sole will last well over the years [even if you use them daily].

Boat Shoe is particular kind of moccasin which has wider opening giving it an open shoe feel to it. This is usually made with softer and thicker leather and is usually unlined. The shoes are made with True-Moccasin construction technique.
True Moccasin construction refers to a technique where the leather swings like an envelope all around the feet. Boat shoes have a snug fit or they fit like socks which means that the leather needs to expand when you walk (the muscles expand when the pressure is on the big toe area). Only true moccasin construction allows for this expansion. This technique consumes 40% more leather but the comfort is unmatchable.
Wear these shoes without socks and if you have to wear them with socks then use half socks which are not visible from outside.
Thermoplastic Rubber is a special grade material which has qualities of both rubber (in terms of abrasion flexibility) and long life of Special Grade Plastic like PU or EVA. Soles made of this material have a longer life in both cold hot climates.
Faux Leather shoes do not breathe and feet will become hot from inside. Well-made genuine leather shoes (with genuine leather lining) will keep your feet cool even after 10 hours of usage in 40 degree Celsius zones. Genuine leather has 50 times longer life than Faux Leather Shoes.

Our standard deliveries are restricted to the PIN Codes that we service. For shipments to Pin Code that we are not covering, you can write to us at [email protected], we handle such shipments in a different manner. This also applies to International Deliveries which are handled by an offline process, extra delivery charges apply to international deliveries which are non-returnable. By default, all deliveries are in Express Mode.
All orders of 500 or more have COD option, if we service your Pin Codes then we offer COD option for your order. We may selectively decline large orders on COD. The refunds of a COD order are done via NEFT and we will need your bank details. The refund via NEFT takes upto 7 working days. Pre-paid orders are refunded via Gateway.
You can Return or Exchange a delivered product but this needs to be initiated within 3 days of delivery. The returned product needs to be in the delivered condition, it should have original tags and labels. Our logistics partners will come and pick the product. Do remember that only one exchange per order is complimentary. You can initiate return or exchange from ‘My Orders Tab’ of your account. Refunds are initiated post return package reaches back to the warehouse.
