The Classic Boat Shoe Proposition in Rare Navy Color
Some shoes earn their place by doing something new. The INS Virat earns its place by doing the original thing correctly. Navy Nubuck upper, white leather lace sitting proud at the collar, white sole, True Moc construction. The white leather lace is not threaded through O-rings or hardware. It sits at the collar in a clean bow — visible, intentional, and nautical without announcing itself. Against the deep navy Nubuck, the white reads as crisp and deliberate. It is the detail that separates the INS Virat's silhouette from every other boat shoe in this range.
Navy Nubuck. The Shade That Denim Was Made to Meet.
True navy in genuine Nubuck leather is hard to find. Most navy footwear is synthetic, canvas, or a dark charcoal that passes for navy in dim light. Getting the dye to penetrate the buffed grain structure of Nubuck evenly — holding its depth at the seams and flex points without bleeding or fading to grey — requires a level of tanning precision that most manufacturers do not attempt.
The shade on the INS Virat sits at the darker end of navy — closer to ink than sky, with a richness in shade that deepens slightly out of direct light. It is a colour that was built for denim. Raw, washed, or dark — denim and navy leather share a tonal register and an unpretentious quality that makes the pairing feel inevitable rather than considered. Chinos in stone, khaki, or olive read equally well against it.
True Moc Construction. The Lace Design That Sets This Apart from Timber.
The Timber series uses a derby closure — lace threading through O-rings across the collar. The INS Virat takes a different approach. The leather lace sits at the collar as a single pass with a visible bow, giving the shoe a cleaner, more open silhouette at the top. It is a quieter lacing treatment, and on a classic navy shoe, quieter is correct.
The construction underneath is unchanged: leather wrapping continuously beneath the foot in a single unbroken True Moc seam, no cemented midsole, hand-stitched throughout. The wide collar opening is generous enough to slip on without forcing, precise enough to run true to size. Once settled, the lace needs no adjustment and the shoe functions as a slip-on.
True Moc uses roughly 40% more leather than standard cemented construction. The shoe fits snugly from day one and moulds to your foot's exact shape within the first few wears.
White Sole. White Lace. The Colour Story Holds.
The white TPR sole below the navy upper echoes the white leather lace above it — two white elements framing the navy between them. It is a nautical logic: navy and white is the original boat shoe colour story, and on the INS Virat everything stays within it. The herringbone pattern pressed into the TPR base delivers reliable anti-skid performance on wet and dry surfaces across all climate conditions.
The Pairing Argument
Navy and white is the original nautical combination — and on a boat shoe it is also the most versatile one. The INS Virat works with raw denim, dark wash, medium wash, and every weight in between. It works with stone chinos, olive trousers, and cream linen. It is the shoe that asks the least of whatever surrounds it, which means it gets worn more than shoes that make demands.

Boat Shoe Made with Classical Principles
These boat shoes follow all the classical principles of boat shoe. They come with antiskid sole, have wider opening and come in MOCTOE construction. Thick unlined genuine leather gives it long life and also great ventilation
Bigger opening
The bigger opening is classical trait of boat shoes, it makes getting in and out of the shoe lot easier. Some people describe boat shoes as “looks like a shoe but is as convenient as a slipper”.
True Moccasin Construction
The leather wraps like an envelope below the feet; this construction technique gives the shoes an amazing ability to expand and contract with every step you take in these which adds to its comfort. This technique is somewhat rarely used as it consumes more leather than usual cemented construction. It’s an amazing experience to use shoes made with MOCTOE technique.
Anti-Skid Long Life TR Sole
These boat shoes are made with TR sole with herringbone pattern which gives them greater grip in outdoor conditions. TR sole also gives a stable performance across temperature zones [works well in Colder as well as Hot Geographies]. This sole will last well over the years [even if you use them daily].

What is a Boat Shoe?
Boat Shoe is particular kind of moccasin which has wider opening giving it an open shoe feel to it. This is usually made with softer and thicker leather and is usually unlined. The shoes are made with True-Moccasin construction technique
What is True-Moccasin construction Technique?
True Moccasin construction refers to a technique where the leather swings like an envelope all around the feet. Boat shoes have a snug fit or they fit like socks which means that the leather needs to expand when you walk (the muscles expand when the pressure is on the big toe area). Only true moccasin construction allows for this expansion. This technique consumes 40% more leather but the comfort is unmatchable.
Fashion Tip
Wear these shoes without socks and if you have to wear them with socks then use half socks which are not visible from outside.
What is TPR material?
Thermoplastic Rubber is a special grade material which has qualities of both rubber (in terms of abrasion flexibility) and long life of Special Grade Plastic like PU or EVA. Soles made of this material have a longer life in both cold hot climates.
What's the difference between Faux Leather Shoes and Genuine Leather Shoes?
Faux Leather shoes do not breathe and feet will become hot from inside. Well-made genuine leather shoes (with genuine leather lining) will keep your feet cool even after 10 hours of usage in 40 degree Celsius zones. Genuine leather has 50 times longer life than Faux Leather Shoes.
Anything particular about the sole attachment?
Sole is not pasted with the upper; its actually stitched (or channeled) in the upper. This means that these will last for years and years. This stitching sole attachment also increases the flexibility of the shoes.
