Where Two Leathers Meet, the Design Begins.
The black formal Derby is the most competed category in men's footwear. Every brand has one. Most look identical. The Dariku earns its place in that category by doing something none of them do — combining two distinct leather families in a single upper, letting the contrast between them drive the design, and putting it all on a rubber sole that performs as well as the shoe looks.
This is a formal Derby built for the person who notices the details — and wants a shoe that rewards that attention.
Dual Leather: NDM Pebble Grain + Softy Smooth
The vamp and body of the Dariku are crafted in NDM — Natural Drum Milled — pebble grain leather. Tough, textured, organically rich in depth. The cap-toe is crafted in Softy smooth leather — finer grain, naturally polished, clean-surfaced. The seam where the two meet runs across the toe with precision — not hidden, not disguised, but made into the visual centrepiece of the shoe.
In NDM alone, this would be a durable, character-led Derby. In Softy alone, it would be a refined, polished one. Together, they create a shoe that is neither entirely one thing nor the other — and is more interesting for it.
A Modern Derby Silhouette
The Dariku is built on a contemporary last. The toe is elongated and tapered — a profile that sits noticeably closer to European formal footwear than the rounded, traditional Derby last that has dominated the Indian market for decades. The open lacing system of the Derby construction sits cleanly above it, and the cap-toe seam gives the shoe a structured horizontal anchor that grounds the whole silhouette.
From the top-down view, the shape is unmistakably modern. On the foot, against a formal trouser, it reads as sharp and current in a way that a traditional Derby last simply does not.
Rubber Sole: Grip, Durability, Weight in Check
The Dariku is built on a rubber sole — delivering the grip and long-term durability that no TR or leather sole can match. On wet floors, hard tiles, outdoor surfaces, and varied terrain across a full working day, the rubber sole holds reliably at every step.
At approximately 850 grams a pair, the Dariku is heavier than the superlight series — but the rubber sole, dual leather construction, and contemporary last are what that weight buys. For a shoe built to this specification, 850 grams is meaningfully competitive with anything in this construction and design category in India.
Engineered for the Long Day
Naked Drum Dyed Leather Lining — uncoated, breathable natural leather inside. No synthetic film. Moves moisture away from the foot continuously, keeping the interior cool and dry through extended wear.
Memory Foam Cushioning — maps to your foot's unique contour over time, distributing pressure evenly across the sole. Reduces cumulative fatigue through prolonged standing and walking.

What is cemented construction technique?
Leather is tucked on the edges of lasts with tags/nails before it is attached to the sole.
What's special about the sole?
Its made with rubber which delivers great grip and lasts over years of usage.
What's the difference between Faux Leather Shoes and Genuine Leather Shoes?
Faux Leather shoes do not breathe and feet will become hot from inside. Well-made genuine leather shoes (with genuine leather lining) will keep your feet cool even after 10 hours of usage in 40 degree Celsius zones. Genuine leather has 50 times longer life than Faux Leather Shoes.
